Sentinel City Clothing

Today I have the great pleasure to introduce you to a stylish and fresh, in Luxembourg based, clothing brand called Sentinel City.

Some months ago, I came across their Instagram account and I was really impressed by their idea to focus on street wear with some simple designs. Sentinel City Clothing was founded in 2013 by 4 young, dynamic and ambitious guys: Charly, Kris, Lou and Chris.

Something really special about this clothing brand is that the co-owners created a fictional city inhabited by their citizens, also known as "keepers of the legacy" (check out the city here). With every first purchase, the customer will receive a CITIZEN ID, with a personal address you choose yourself within the city.

At the beginning, we looked for a catchy brand name and we wanted an Owl to be our main logo. We found the word "Sentinel" on the Internet and we all liked it, but we wanted something more. We didn't like the idea of naming our brand "Sentinel Clothing", there was nothing special behind this name! So after a while we came up with the idea to create a whole fictional City, which helped us to create a history behind our brand name, and that's how "Sentinel City Clothing" was born...


Kris's main area is photography. He is responsible for the shootings of every collection.
Lou is the event manager and takes care of all the media stuff.
Chris is responsible for the financial stuff and Charly designs the flyers and the graphics.
Every important decision, like the planning of every new collection, is a group-job.

Every logo is illustrated and created by the co-owners them-selves, in collaboration with a graphic designer. We always try to find something new that will please our citizens, because without them there wouldn't be no Sentinel City. Our citizens are those who decide if a collection will be a success or not. It's a real business. If you don't have enough customers, you won't be able to promote your brand the way you want it to be promoted. Everything depends on your citizens! And we have the best!! We always stand a hundred percent behind every collection and behind every item.

It's a luxury if you can wear the things you created on your own, without being dependent on another clothing brand to produce something that matches your style or your taste.


Now let's get over to the clothes themselves:
Luckily I wrote them on Facebook 2 months ago, so I had the opportunity to buy and test a lot of their items, like the "Classic Logo T-Shirt", the "Crossed Arrows Hoodie Zipper", the "Native Girl T-Shirt" or the "College Logo Hoodie Zipper and T-Shirt". From the beginning on, I was persuaded by their quality, their colors, their design and their logos. Everything is really qualitative and extremely comfortable.

Even Sven Fielitz (a football freestyler) and bands like Angel at my Table and Versus You are supporting Sentinel City Clothing.

And the best is, you can wear those clothes everywhere: in everyday life and even in the gym! I often wear my hoodies to the gym and sometimes I even train in my shirts... I really love my SC clothes and I am super excited about their new collection...

Oh and by the way, they have super duper awesome beanies! As I am a real beanie-freak, I had to buy them all. They're just awesome.

Next month they will celebrate the opening of their new office in Differdange (1535°) and they will release their new spring-collection in April!

Hello people,

Today I want to introduce you to my best fluffy friend: ROCCO!
Rocco is an Alaskan Malamute Cross and he is the best dog you could ever wish for!
Today we are celebrating his 4th birthday and he got really spoiled... as usual! I know that some people can't understand the bond between us, but I could not imagine a life without him! Even the thought of letting him go breaks my heart...

For me, he is not "just a dog"! For me, he is the embodiment of all my hopes and dreams, the happiest memory of the past and the pure happiness of the moment. He brings out the best in me and diverts my thoughts away from the worries of the day. He gives me what is essential: friendship, love, joy, happiness, trust, hope, fun and many more.


He thought me how to be patient and how to live my life with more compassion. Because of him, I found back my way to life, I started living again. Some of the proudest moments have come along with my dog. I went through a lot of horror days, but he always tried to lighten up my day. He gave me comfort and strength to overcome these days.

I hope that some of you can relate to me, and that some of you have the same bond with their furry companion, because if not... you've missed out something really beautiful.
I hope that people will understand that "just a dog" is not "just a dog". He is the main reason why I still have the belief in humanity, and he gives me the feeling that I am not "just a Women" but that I am the most beautiful and best person I can be.

Have you ever noticed that DOG spelled backwards is GOD? Think about it...

Motivation Booster

Hello :)

Today I won’t write a long post, but this time I thought it would be a good idea to help you push your motivation a little bit further, no matter what your goals are.

So here are my favorite motivation quotes I wanted to share with you.

* Everyone wants to succeed in life, but you will learn more from failure then from success. Failure builds your personality, and success changes it!

* Do whatever you want, it is your life and you have to live it! Nobody else can take your place in the world! You are unique…never forget that.

* Don’t think that people are against you. The human being is built on an egocentric level, in other words: We are all selfish, some more and others less. Now it’s your turn to choose.

* Celebration and tolerance are 2 different things so be with those who celebrate you and not only tolerate you.

The best motivation is when you have a partner who inspires you, somebody with a positive vision of life. His positive standpoint, his devotion, conviction and confidence might influence your view of reality. Some people have the need to be challenged.

People who want to remain the same will warn you not to have many expectations of them. People who want to grow want you to push them, to invest and to believe in them.

While making decisions,  trust in yourself. Listen to the voice deep inside you! This voice will guide you through all of your decisions! It is much more important to listen to yourself then to follow the opinion of others. Give your self-esteem the chance to grow. Self-love is very important in this procedure, so be YOU and fall in love whit the person you really are.

Trust me...

Hey guys,

Trusting someone is essential if you want to live in a healthy relationship or if you want to build and nourish a powerful connection with someone else. Giving someone your trust means giving this person a part of your humaneness and your fragility.

Everyone knows how it feels to be deceived. Deceived by a person you love, by a friend you would do anything for, by a member of your family... Do you miss the old happy YOU? The company of your friends and family makes you feel alone due to another's person behaviour? Well... you're at the point where you recognize that something went wrong in your circle of trust! Sometimes you're feeling empty...Not because you feel alone but because someone you really care about broke your trust!

Trust issues will cause you inner pain. Those issues you suffer from will overflow every of your relationships! So one person’s decision do deceive you (YES this is a choice they make, it does not happen out of nothing) has an influence on every other relationship! The only way you can re-feel better is to surround yourself with people who care about you, who trust you and whom you trust, who won’t deceive you and who will do anything to make your life happier and easier.

As I already said in a former post, the moment you start asking yourself whether you can trust someone or not, is the moment you definitely know that you can’t, otherwise the answer would be clear for you and there would be no questions needed. Every relationships and friendships are built on trust! Without trust you won’t have the essential base to start a healthy and good relationship. Without it, you’ll have nothing, nothing strong enough to help you build up something solid and permanent.

So once your trust is broken, it is hard to re-build it!

You need to accept the other person. You are not allowed to judge over his actions neither you can force him to follow your personal opinion. Everyone is responsible for his actions, so are you! Don’t be the one others will blame for their mistakes. Everybody needs to believe in himself and in his decisions.

Be a good friend!

Be honest to each other! Have your personal opinion without hurting your friend, because if you do, they will take distance from you because nobody likes to be hurt for no reason! Let your friends see YOU as you are, and you need to see them as they are!

Respect each other’s feelings. Create a place where you can find comfort and understanding. Be the one your friend will call in his darkest moments. Cherish your time together!

Carbonara-Muffins

Hello my dears,

A friend of mine shared this recipe with me, and I am really thankful for that. After we both bought the book "Sweet and Easy - Enie backt" (Enie van de Meiklokjes), we tried out some new recipes as we both love baking. Well she is much more talented than I am, but I try my best! Sometimes I just improvise while baking but I think I will learn more by following some rules and recipes :)

Today I want to share with you this little awesomeness-recipe: Spaghetti-Carbonara-Muffins!

Perfectly served as an  "Apperitif"

Ingredients for 12 muffins:

• Olive Oil
• Spaghettis (1/2 spaghetti box, I prefer whole wheat spaghetti)
• 3 eggs
• 200g bacon (small slices)
• Parmesan Cheese
• 250ml Crème fraîche (for a healthier way try crème fraîche with 0.1% fat)

Left: ingrediets! right: equipment needed.
firstly put your spaghetti in boiled water and fry the bacon.

Directions:

1. Fry the bacon in olive oil and boil your spaghettis till they are "aldente"
2. Oil your muffin forms
3. Put the eggs and 250ml crème fraîche in your measuring jug and add the spices you want (I prefer pepper, chili and parsley). Now mix!
4. When the spaghettis are ready, put them into cold water! They need to be cooled.
5. Put the spaghettis in your muffin forms and put some bacon on the top.
6. Douse your spaghettis with the cream (only half of the muffin form)
7. Garnish every spaghetti-muffin with 1 teaspoon of parmesan cheese
8. Put your muffins for 25 minutes in the oven (180° and air circulation)
9. After 25 minutes, take the muffins out of the oven and let them cool off. after they are cold, you can take them out of your forms. Now they are ready to be served.
